I think I could work from home....

...if I had a space like this.

I mean really... how could you not get a lot of work done if you were separated from your house, but on your own property, let alone you worked in a very cool little building that used to be a shed?

Then again, maybe I wouldn't get much work done because I'd have an amazing view like that little designer's studio does.

While you're checking out more photos of the shed/office conversion, check out more work by Hinterland Design

Ugly buildings

I'm all about recycling buildings, or working with what you have. It pains me to see buildings torn down for no real reason.

Some buildings however, are such an eye sore that you can't help but gawk or turn your head.

California Home & Design compiled their list of 25 Buildings to Demolish Right Now. Check them out, and add any buildings you think are missing.

I have to agree with a few on the list... Grave's Portland Building, Gehry's EPM Museum which looks like a mechanical heart gone wrong, and the Oakely Headquarters is seriously laughable.

Recycled Spaces

Dwell has an interesting article about an American couple converting a 17th century warehouse in Amsterdam into a living space. I absolutely LOVE recycled spaces and dream of my own challenge one day.

I do not, however, like the painted brick. I really, really, really do not like painted brick. I realize it brings in more light, but I rather have the natural look than an artificial, oddly textured wall. Painted brick is right on up there with aluminum siding. Why hide your walls?

In any case, click on the photo to view more photos!

Bio-Glass

I love interesting surfaces. Add some color, some texture, lighting.... love it. CaraGreen, a sustainable material company based in North Carolina, has some beautiful materials which you can see on their website.

I love this section of their website. Gorgeous applications. Cradle to cradle certified and beautiful on top of that!

Dainty lighting

I love paper lanterns, well, all lanterns in general really. But paper lanterns drop from your ceiling and just look like these beautiful little orbs in your living room or little spaceships above your kitchen table.

This, however, looks so beautiful and ornate that it would have to have a prominent space in your house... because it deserves a lot of attention.

Small Living

Check out this video to see how a man in Hong Kong lives in a 300 some-odd square foot condo.

I would love to live in a place like that, but I'm not sure it would work for more than one person. It may be difficult to have a guest over when you need to take a bath....

Amazing Staircases

Forbes gathered some photos of impressive staircases. It's hard to say which is my favorite, the hidden staircase, the book shelf staircase, or this one...

maybe because it reminds me of Gaudi.

Hidden Pool

This Youtube video shows a very cool new pool idea. I admit I watched it on mute, after hearing the first few seconds and getting annoyed. ha!

Or if you would like to skip the video and just check out the business' website, here it is.

I foresee this preventing pool crashers while you're away!

Random Rooster

I was flipping through Architectural Digest when I came upon this ad.

After I stopped my hysterical laughter, I showed my roommate and joked around about how I bet they have a half naked Latino woman in an ad.

I wandered the internet and found this on their website.

I was close.

Anyway, as hilarious as their ads are, they have some fantastic woodwork.

Ps. The ad with the Latino man now resides in a frame along with my wall of family photos.

Sneaky Jungle

My apartment is slowly turning into a jungle. Every time I stop at the farmer's market or grocery store I have to convince myself to not bring home a new plant. I'm not sure why I am obsessed with our leafy little friends, and I'm sure my roommate has been wondering the same thing.

This little beauty works perfectly for others who want to sneak more plants into their homes.

Check out this website to see more of their work.

Infinity.... bath tubs?

I have never been in an infinity pool. I imagine once I stop splashing around I would enjoy the beauty and serenity.

Now an infinity tub... that would encourage more splashing to test out the nature of the design.

To read about either tub, please click on the images.
