Futuristic houses... abandoned

Poking around the internet I found a blog written about some flickr photos from Taiwan. Apparently these houses/apartments were to be some sort of resort, but it doesn't seem like that lasted very long, or if it even officially opened. The aerial view from Google Maps is quite amusing.

Be Still My Heart

Regular readers have probably figured out I have a large spot in my heart reserved for abandoned buildings.

Well... this blog has pushed me over the edge. I really can't stress enough how much I absolutely ADORE this blog. Perhaps 'adore' is a strange choice of words for most sane people out there. Ha!

Ellis Island

I went to the Michener Museum a few weeks ago and purchased some post cards of the south side of Ellis Island by Stephen Wilkes.

Random images for post cards when you're buying them several hours away from where they originated, I know, but I absolutely love them.

Vanishing Cities

Interesting... not just abandoned houses (my secret fetish!), but entire abandoned cities! Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy these cities are abandoned, but they make for very interesting photographs and an interesting story.

I am slightly obsessed with abandoned houses. There is something about their quiet, crumbling, graffiti-ed walls; their defeat by nature; and their untold history that lingers within that fascinates me and terrifies me.

This website feeds my love of abandoned houses. Sadly, the photos (I believe) are all from Detroit.
